Samantha Barnes is an artist of 30 years experience. Underlying all her work is her love of observational drawing, mixed with a large portion of play. 

Her recent collection INKTERIORS, which is now stocked here at MAP STORES, celebrates home and the functional items we already own. The ethos behind Inkteriors is to give these objects some appreciation, a little space and a large slathering of love.

Inkteriors are a collection of original drawings of simple kitchen tools used by Sam during our collective lockdown experience. She found solace in chopping, baking and boiling her way through the anxieties of the pandemic. Finding new appreciation of the tools in draws and cupboards, she began drawing them in her sketchbooks and journals. 

Making original drawings is important to Sam, "There is something wonderful about having original arkwork in our homes. A direct connection from the artists hand and studio into the heart of our homes."
